Margaret M. (Farr) Hopkins
(March 23, 1909 - November 14, 2005)
CORINTH -- Margaret M. Hopkins, 96, of county Route 25, died Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, at Saratoga Hospital following a short illness.
Born on March 23, 1909, in Corinth, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Mabel (Sweet) Farr.
Mrs. Hopkins attended school in Corinth.
She married Gilbert J. Hopkins on Oct. 24, 1930, in Corinth. The couple resided in Corinth all their lives. He died July 4, 2001, following 70 years of marriage.
Mrs. Hopkins worked during her youth on her family farm and helped her husband during the many years of their marriage.
She was always busy doing things in her home and for her children and grandchildren.
Besides her husband and her parents, two daughters, Joyce Hardy and Linda Robinson, one brother, Irving Farr, and one sister, Lucy Hammond, all died before her.
Survivors include one daughter, Alberta Reed and her husband, Carl, of Hadley; seven grandchildren: Carla Hayes, Christine Howe, Ann Sowell, Donald G. Duffney, Leona Pedalty, Daisy Hayes, and Jennifer Robinson; several great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mabel Meade of Corinth; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at Densmore Funeral Home, Inc., 7 Sherman Ave., Corinth, with the Rev. Todd Falk, pastor of Wilton Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery, South Corinth.
