Dr Don Returns??
Could the Doctor return to radio? His last appearance was on May 25, 2000. There has been talk over the years as to the possibility of such. The Doctor has stated that he will not return to traditional FM radio, because of his dislike of the politics of it. He has long despised the way radio has gone into a politically correct manner as well as the monopoly of radio media. (for those who don't know: 4 out of every 5 stations out there are owned by one company) The doctor also dislikes the fact that "payola" still exists in radio. (this is when radio stations are paid to play music, although this is illegal, but seldom enforced by the FCC) This of course, limits local music and does not really give them a chance. (to make it worse, if you don't have your cd in Wal Mart you will not do well and Wal Mart is so politically correct, that music artists have to change their music to appease the Wal Mart monoploy) Granted college stations still have some freedom, but as the doctor learned in May of 2000, freedom of speech is limited to the wealthy and the people in power. (Though the doctor is proud of insulting Hillary Clinton, and is proud to personally know he got this political liar ticked off)
In spite of it all, the Doctor has considered returning to broadcasting. At this time there are no future plans, though there have been discussions with Rockin Geoff and Tassh. We will keep you posted.
